GTA 6 enterable interiors: what the leaks actually claim
Leaks have claimed for years that Grand Theft Auto 6 will let players walk into a huge share of its buildings — anywhere from 40% to 70% by different accounts — with small shops enterable and even destructible. None of those figures come from Rockstar Games. Every one traces back to anonymous "insiders," self-described play-testers, or fan-compiled leak documents, and the numbers have only grown over time.
This is a rumor, not a spec sheet. Here is what has actually been claimed, where each figure came from, and the one piece of enterable-interior evidence Rockstar has actually shown.
What the leaks claim
The most detailed version comes from a January 2025 report attributed to "one supposed play-tester." It claims players will be able to enter roughly 40% of the buildings across the map. Petrol stations, shops and pawn shops would always be enterable, while larger structures — skyscrapers, banks and hotels — would open up only "if fully fleshed out."
The same account tied smaller buildings to a next-gen destruction system, describing crumbling walls, fire and collapsing roofs as part of the game's robbery-focused design. That framing — theft and robbery as core gameplay driving interior access — has been a throughline across the leaks.
The specifics that keep resurfacing, per those reports:
- Small shops — gas stations, pawn shops, diners — enterable and, in many cases, destructible
- Around 40% of larger buildings enterable, per the January 2025 claim
- Next-gen destruction physics on smaller structures: crumbling walls, fire, roof collapse
- Interior access framed as central to the game's theft-and-robbery loop
The numbers keep climbing — a credibility red flag
The through-line of this rumor is that the figures escalate with each retelling. The idea of "hundreds of interiors" originates in the fan-compiled "GTA 6 Document," built partly from the September 2022 Teapotuberhacker leak, which referenced at least 157 distinct interior locations and described enterable buildings as a "big feature." That figure was explicitly labeled "and counting."
From there the claims grew. The January 2025 report set the bar at 40% of buildings. Other leak write-ups have cited around 70% enterable alongside claims of three major cities and four sub-cities, and a later leak wave in 2025 landed on roughly 67%. Some rumor mills have inflated the interior count past 700 — a number with no verifiable origin.
A rumor whose central statistic drifts from "157 interiors" to "70% of all buildings" over three years is one to treat with caution. Each jump makes the claim more impressive and less traceable to any single source.
Why fans are divided on "enterable"
When the ~67% figure recirculated in 2025, it left the community, in one outlet's words, "seriously torn". Much of the argument is really about definitions: what counts as "enterable"?
Skeptics argue a majority-enterable city is unrealistic at GTA 6's scale, and question what purpose entering that many buildings would even serve. Others counter that the number becomes plausible if "enterable" is read broadly — apartment and hotel lobbies, motel hallways, rooftop access via elevators, or garages attached to otherwise-locked houses all technically count, without every building hiding a fully modeled interior.
For scale, GTA 5 had roughly 47 enterable buildings out of several thousand structures, per the same report. Even a fraction of the leaked percentages would be a dramatic jump — which is exactly why the biggest figures invite the most doubt.
What Rockstar has actually shown
Rockstar has never given an enterability figure. The closest thing to official evidence is in Trailer 2, released May 6, 2025 and captured on PS5, which shows parallax interiors — a depth effect that makes the rooms behind windows look three-dimensional rather than the flat, painted-on textures GTA 5 used.
That is a genuine graphical upgrade, but it is not the same thing as an enterable interior. A convincing parallax window tells you a room was modeled to be seen from outside; it says nothing about whether you can open the door. Treating the effect as proof of the leaked percentages conflates two different features.
The bottom line
Until Rockstar says otherwise, every enterable-building percentage for GTA 6 is an unverified leak. The safe read: expect more interior access than GTA 5, especially for shops that fit a robbery-driven loop, but treat 40%, 67% and 70% as competing rumors rather than a roadmap. Grand Theft Auto 6 is due November 19, 2026, and the actual scope of its interiors won't be confirmed until Rockstar shows it.
